Irrigation Techniques & Technology
Tuesday, August 15, 2017 (8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
Speaker: Jeff Mgebroff, CID, CLIA, Hunter Industries
This training consists of:
Basic Hydraulics: The relationships between pressure and flow will be
discussed to determine the design capacity of an irrigation system. Learning to
properly read and use friction loss charts will also be explained.
Sprinkler Placement/Zoning/Scheduling: The selection and placement of sprinklers as well as dividing them into zones based on the design capacity. A base schedule will also be created using precipitation rates and water requirements.
Multimeter Usage: We will complete the Hunter on-line training module entitled “SKILL400 Multimeter Basics.” This will allow you to fully use this valuable tool for electrical troubleshooting.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Applying the principles of electricity to assist in the troubleshooting of common electrical issues with irrigation systems. Troubleshooting of both conventional controllers and valves will be discussed.
Wi-Fi Technology and Application
This discussion will cover the current and more importantly the potential business opportunities this widely accepted technology offers. Emphasis will be placed on the Hydrawise System that was designed with the contractor in mind.
