This workshop covers the latest products, timing, and tactics for managing white grubs, billbugs, chinch bugs, crane flies, and other major turf insect pests in Michigan and neighboring states. It also covers how to deal with cicada killers, ticks, yellow jackets, and other nuisance pests in turf settings, strengths and weaknesses of particular insecticides and non-chemical alternatives, and how to safeguard bees and other beneficial species when controlling turfgrass pests. The workshop will also help professionals to better communicate with the public about the safety margin of modern insecticides.
