What’s with all the rust diseases? Trellis rust on pear, sure, but a massive outbreak of cedar quince rust on Callery pear? Where did that come from? On oaks is it red oaks shothole leafminer insect damage or is it anthracnose? What is the apple scab story this year – and is there something different with rusts on crabapple? Is this the typical story with sycamore anthracnose? We are already seeing some interesting infectious disease problems this season – and some of the usual suspects. Let’s take a look.
