Register NOW to join your fellow members for a morning of grassroots advocacy at the State Capitol. Legislative Day is your opportunity to connect directly with lawmakers, share your expertise, and highlight the impact of Michigan’s green industry businesses across the state.
This event is vital to protecting and advancing the interests of our industry. We’ll begin with an informational briefing covering legislative protocol, key policy priorities, and the message we will deliver to each legislative office. Participants will then form small groups to visit offices throughout the State Legislature.

2026 MGIA Legislative Day

8:30 a.m. - Coffee Meet-Up (Optional)
The Hob Nob Coffee Shop

Members who would like coffee may gather at Hob Nob prior to the start of the day. (Coffee is optional. All attendees must report to the Anderson House Office Building by 9:00 a.m.)

9:00 a.m. - Morning Briefing & Team Organization

MGIA members convene for a briefing with MGIA’s lobbyist, Jake German of Dunaskiss Consulting & Development.
We will review the legislative process, discuss key talking points, organize into teams, and prepare for Capitol visits.

9:30 a.m. - Capitol Visits Begin
Teams will meet with members of the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives to share our industry’s priorities and perspectives.

11:30 a.m. - Report Back & Debrief
Anderson House Office Building (Lobby)
Teams reconvene to recap legislative visits and share key takeaways.

12:00 p.m. - 2026 MGIA Legislative Day Concludes
